Magical Rafa Nadal Odds On For 11th ATP Monte Carlo Masters Win
ATP Monte Carlo Masters - 15th-22nd April 2018
The ATP Tour hits the European clay this week for the famous Monte Carlo Masters as the worlds best descend on one of the most beautiful tournaments on the calendar. With the sun set to shine in the south of France, it is sure to be a feast on the eyes whilst Rafa Nadal is the red hot favourite on the court.
- Rafa Nadal has won the Monte Carlo Masters a simply remarkable ten times during his career
Magical Nadal Can Pick Up An 11th Monte Carlo Crown
There is no question that Rafa Nadal is the greatest of all time on clay and nowhere has that been more evident than on the dust of Monte Carlo. The Spanish legend has won the tournament a simply stunning ten times during his career and few would bet against him making it eleven this week.
Injury has hampered Nadal since the Australian Open but he returned last week in the Davis Cup and looked as good as ever back on his favourite surface.
Clay is the time of year we see Rafa target each season and if he is anywhere near his best, he cannot be beaten. The Spanish superstar is currently 4/6 with Paddy Power to lift yet another title in Monaco which reflects his total dominance in the event down the years.
Impressive Zverev Might Be The Each Way Play
Punters certainly aren't going to get rich backing Nadal which means there has to be one or two players further down the list at a more attractive price.
Novak Djokovic (16/1) is a two time champion and brilliant on clay when he is at his best but his form continues to be woeful and it is hard to fancy the Serb to win a match these days, let alone a whole tournament.
Austrian Dominic Thiem (16/1) is at home on the red surface and could make a run this week although injury problems and being drawn in the same half as Nadal is a worry given his lack of tennis recently.
One man who does make appeal at the prices is the young German Alex Zverev who continues to be touted as a future #1. Zverev is in good form having reached the Miami Open Final recently and has pedigree on the clay having won the Rome Masters in 2017 in stunning fashion.
Zverev has landed in the opposite half of the draw to Rafa Nadal and that means he is the each-way best bet of the week at 10/1 with Paddy Power.com.
