Red Hot Federer The Clear ATP Rogers Cup Favourite
The countdown to the US Open kicks into overdrive this week with the ATP Rogers Cup in Montreal, and it should be a thrilling week of action in Canada. Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka are all out of the event with injury which means the focus will very much remain on the big two of Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer.

Roger and Rafa Dominating The Betting
2017 has felt more like 2008 on the mens side of the tennis world with Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal dominating the game, and sharing the three Grand Slams between them up to this point.
The betting for the Rogers Cup expects that trend to continue with the two legends the clear favourites to lift the title, and indeed, meet in another final. Federer will be playing his first tournament since cruising to the Wimbledon title last month, and his form this season has been simply sensational.
Federer is a two time champion in Canada, although he is without a title since 2006, and his form this season ensures he is the 13/8 favourite with Ladbrokes.
Nadal is the closest challenger in the betting at 7/2 and the top side for the event after a stellar 2017 has seen him rise back towards the top of the game. He's a three time Champion in Canada although he did suffer an early exit at Wimbledon, and away from clay he does always have a bad day in his legs these days.
Each Way Contenders...
Punters wanting to look elsewhere for a bet have a number of options, including the red hot Alexander Zverev from Germany.
Zverev (12/1) cruised to victory in the APT 500 Washington event over the weekend to move up to 4th in the race, and continue to mark himself out as one to watch. He clearly has the talent to breakthrough into the big time soon, as his Rome win earlier in the year showed, and he is the next best in the betting as a result.
Home favourite Milos Raonic (12/1) will be desperate to have a good week in front of his fans, and is always dangerous, although his year has been far from spectacular with injuries hampering his form.
One man who certainly comes into this week in form is American Sam Querrey who lands in the top half of the draw, and is sure to be full of confidence. His semi-final run at Wimbledon has been backed up with a tournament win at the Los Cabos Open last week, and he really is in the form of his life.
Querrey will have to negotiate a tough 2nd round clash with former Champion Jo Wilfried Tsonga but he has more than enough in the tank, and at 66/1 with Paddy Power, he is hugely overpriced as an each way contender to make the final. Roger Federer is the most likely winner but Querrey is the value bet as the road to New York begins in earnest, and it should be a great week in Canada.
