Nadal And Federer Remain The Hot Favourites In Latest US Open Tennis Betting
We are at the half way stage of the US Open in New York, and it has been a stunning tournament so far with great tennis, major shocks, and bad weather hitting the headlines in the final major of the season. The mens tournament continues to be dominated by two legends, whilst the ladies draw is as wide open as we can remember...
Nadal and Federer Remain The Ones To Beat In The Men's Draw
Before the tournament we saw the likes of Djokovic, Murray, Raonic, Wawrinka and Nishikori withdraw with injury, and the big names have continued to fall during the first week in the Big Apple.
Pre-tournament fancies like Zverev, Cilic, Berdych and Dimitrov have all fallen in the early rounds to shock results, whilst Tsonga, Monfils and Kyrgios have all also failed to make it to the second week of the US Open.
Amongst all the carnage, two giants of the game loom large over the draw with Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal both still involved, and on course for a heavyweight semi-final clash. The betting suggests that the winner of that semi will win the tournament but neither have been anywhere near their best so far.
Federer was taken to five sets in both of his first two matches with a stiff back clearly hampering the Wimbledon Champion, whilst Nadal has been marginally more impressive, but equally far from his best. The Spaniard does look a little more consistent and is the favourite at this stage at 13/8 with Betfred, with Federer a 2/1 poke with Paddy Power.
Juan Martin Del Potro remains a dangerous floater as a past champion, but it's hard to see his body lasting another week, whilst home favourite Sam Querrey is likely to have the backing of the home crowd, but this tournament is there for the taking for Rafa or Roger.

Women's Draw Wide Open
Whilst the men's betting at this stage is dominated by two names, the ladies half of the tournament is far less clear cut with six players at single figured prices.
Maria Sharapova and Garbine Muguruza were dumped out on Sunday night which leaves world #1 Karolina Pliskova and Petra Kvitova fighting for favouritism. Kvitova is a Grand Slam Champion and has the game but can off games as she recovers from her terrifying stabbing, whilst Pliskova needs to prove she can win a Slam having never won one before.
Svitolina has been one of the most consistent hard court players in the world in 2017, and is a major threat at 6/1 with bet365, while America have two major hopes in Madison Keys (8/1) and Sloane Stephens (9/1), with the latter continuing her remarkable rise back up to the top of the game.
There is no doubt who the most popular winner of the tournament would be with Venus Williams still in the draw. The big sister of Serena last won in Flushing Meadows back in 2001, and having already reached two Slam finals in 2017, is an 8/1 shot with Bet Victor.
