Diamond Jubilee Stakes Odds
There is a stellar field of 12 runners engaged for the Diamond Jubilee this season with a host of big name sprinters set to lock horns on the biggest stage.
Harry Angel looks set to start favourite for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby and it is easy to make a case for the Godolphin owned horse to claim a famous victory. The son of Dark Angel enjoyed a brilliant 2017 with a July Cup win at Newmarket the highlight of a thrilling season.
The four-year-old cruised to victory in the Duke of York on the Knavesmire on seasonal debut and certainly looks like the one to beat on that form at a price of around 11/4 with Ladbrokes.
This is far from a one horse race though with Merchant Navy (4/1) a major player for Aidan O'Brien. Warmed up for this with a win in a Group 2 at the Curragh which is good form but he does have work to do with Redkirk Warrior (5/1) who also runs here.
The Australian trained sprinter was a Group 1 winner at Flemington ahead of Merchant Navy back in November and has made the long trip to Ascot for a tilt at the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
The Tin Man (8/1) tends to save his best for Ascot having won this race last year and cannot be ruled out of putting in another impressive display for connections, although this looks tougher.
Bound For Nowhere Looks A Big Price
Harry Angel is the most likely winner of this race given his course and recent form but there is value to be found further down the list.
One of those is the Wesley Ward trained Bound for Nowhere who comes into this race with some excellent form. The four-year-old brushed Bucchero aside on his last start with that horse subsequently running an excellent race in the King's Stand Stakes on Tuesday.
That form now looks top class and Wesley ward hit the board at Ascot on Thursday to win the Norfolk Stakes with Shang Shang Shang and there is no reason why this American speedster cannot be right in the mix at a price of 10/1 with Ladbrokes.
