The Head Of The Betting
It can sometimes be a case of 'after the Lord Mayor's show' when a tournament follows a major like The Masters but there are some quality players teeing up this week, with Dustin Johnson currently an 8/1 favourite ahead of his first appearance at Harbour Town since 2009.
Paul Casey (16/1), who tied 15th at Augusta last week, returns to Harbour Town for the first time since missing the cut in 2016, while Matt Kuchar is looking to enhance an impressive record in this particular tournament.
Kuchar (20/1) has picked up three successive top-eleven finishes at the RBC Heritage since winning the title in 2014 and he arrives in decent form this year thanks to a couple of top-tens in Austin and Houston before a decent showing at Augusta.
The Each-Way Picks
It is difficult to know how much last week's Masters exertions will have taken out of those players who were competing at the business end of the leaderboard and we prefer to focus on a couple of bigger priced players with strong records at Harbour Town this week.
Kevin Kisner lost out in a play-off in this tournament in 2015 before tying for 11th in 2017 and it is clear that he is a man in form. A runner-up in the Match Play event earlier this term, Kisner looks a very decent bet at 40/1 with Coral.
Tip #1: Kevin Kisner (each way) @ 40/1 with Coral - 1/5 odds on 7 places.
We backed Ryan Moore at a huge price at The Masters last week and he produced a solid effort to tie for 28th. Moore's accuracy off the tee ensures he should be able to plot his way around this week's course, where driving accuracy and scrambling have often proven to be key statistics - Moore ranks in the top-30 on the PGA Tour for both. It will be his first appearance in this event since 2008 and he can make his mark as he bids to force his way back into the top-50 of the world rankings, and thus ensure his qualification for the US Open.
Tip #2: Ryan Moore (each way) @ 60/1 with Paddy Power - 1/5 odds on 7 places.
Russell Knox is showing signs of returning to his best form thanks to three top-20 finishes this year and he is very much a 'horse for the course'. The Scot has gone 9-18-2-11 in his past four appearances at the RBC Heritage and he can shine here again.
Tip #3: Russell Knox (each way) @ 66/1 with Unibet 1/5 odds on 6 places.
Finally, Luke Donald keeps knocking on the door without success at the RBC Heritage but he will surely offer each-way value again. The Englishman has finished in the top-three of the leaderboard in seven of his last nine appearances at Harbour Town, albeit he is still searching for that maiden success here.
Tip #4: Luke Donald (each way) @ 66/1 with Unibet - 1/5 odds on 6 places.
