France v Croatia Odds
France, the 1998 World Cup winners, are set to appear in a final for the first time since they lost to Italy in 2006 and they have been quietly impressive this summer. Les Bleus were slow to get going in the group stages but they have grown as the tournament has gone on and they are 19/20 favourites to win the World Cup.
Didier Deschamps is a cautious head coach and his team have kept four clean sheets in their past five games, although they can be superb going forward too.
Antoine Griezmann has now scored nine goals in his last 12 appearances at the finals of major tournaments and he is 9/2 favourite to be first goalscorer, while the exciting Kylian Mbappe, who has scored seven in his past 12 starts for France, is 5/1 to score first.
It is worth looking at a French player to open the scoring as they have scored first in five of their six World Cup games, while Croatia have conceded first in each of their past three.
Croatia, who finished third at the 1998 World Cup, have reached their first final the hard way as they overcame Denmark and Russia on penalties before beating England 2-1 after extra-time.
World Cup Final Odds
Tired Croatian legs are likely to be a factor on Sunday and it is difficult to see how the creaking Dejan Lovren can cope with the attacking threat posed by Griezmann and Mbappe. Lovren is 5/2 to be shown a card (Unibet) and he could be pulled all over the place by a quality French side, with France 14/5 to win with a -1 goal handicap with Ladbrokes.
The French have never lost to Croatia, winning three and drawing two of their five meetings, and they will be too good as they look to learn the lessons of their Euro 2016 final defeat.
