Croatia v England Odds
We only have to go back a few months ago to the World Cup semi-final for the last meeting between these two nations with Croatia coming out on top in extra time on that occasion.
The Croats do have the more experienced and technically gifted squad of the two but they lose home advantage due to that stadium closure which may bring the teams closer together.
England and Croatia both lost to Spain in their first two matches in the group, with the Croats spanked 6-0 in one of the surprise results of the first round of matches. The loser on Friday night will be looking at Nations League relegation straight in the face which does give this game an added edge.
The betting for the match is as tight as you would imagine for two top class nations and it is going to be a tough decision for punters.
Paddy Power rate Croatia as the 8/5 favourites for the win, with England a shade bigger at 17/10 for the three points.
The home team are likely to dominate possession with the Modric/Rakitic axis in midfield but this England team is full of youth and promise with Sancho, Maddison and Mount in the squad for the first time.
Goals are expected for both teams at Evens with William Hill with an open match on the cards given the attacking flair on show.
On balance, this could actually turn out to be an excellent match with two in form teams who need a win. It has been a tough spell for England post world Cup though and away from home with a young team, the World Cup finalists are the picks at the prices.
