England to level Ashes series with day night win over Australia in Adelaide
England will have to forget about their 10-wicket mauling at the hands of Australia in the first Ashes Test at Brisbane last week, as they prepare for the second Test, which gets under way in the early hours of Saturday morning.
David Warner and Cameron Bancroft knocked off the meagre total set by England with aplomb, but Joe Root can take a positive mindset to the Adelaide Oval knowing that the Three Lions don't have a dreadful record at that ground, like they had at the Gabba, but it will still be the home side that line up as red-hot favourites to pull 2-0 clear in this five-Test series.
- Australia cruised to 10-wicket win in first Test
- The 2nd Test will be a Day-Night game in Adelaide
- Joe Root hit 87 in his last knock at Adelaide Oval against Australia

How Will It Go?
A best-priced 4/6 with Betfair Sportsbook, Australia are entitled to be odds-on shots for the second Test, but what could really play in England's favour is that this Test match will be a day-night contest, which could aid England's swing bowlers hugely, so this could be a huge opening for Root's men to try and make it 1-1 with three Tests to play.
James Anderson and Chris Woakes often found it tough in Brisbane, but if that pair can bowl as dusk approaches, and the lights come on, then they have shown before that they can be a real handful, so the 11/4 with bet365 about an England win could be too big to let go, as while Josh Hazlewood will enjoy the potential swinging conditions, it could well aid England's bowlers more, and they will look to put pressure on England.
The draw is available at 5/1 with Ladbrokes, but with these day-night matches likely to see wickets tumble late in the day, then you have to feel there will be a definite result here, and if England can just hold things together in the lower order to try and post 350-400 then it's hard to see the Aussie batsman surpassing those sort of numbers, if Anderson and Co. can get the ball turning round corners under the floodlights.
Best Bets Away From Win Market
If England are to record a surprise victory then it will be Joe Root that will need to shine with the bat, and if the Yorkshireman can just kick on from his half centuries, then he could put England in a fine position, and while Mark Stoneman could be the value play at 9/2 with bet365 to be top English batsman, the 13/5 with the same firm for Root to top score is the safe way to go.
As mentioned earlier, Josh Hazlewood could be the one that benefits the most of the three Australian quicks with these day-night conditions, and at 5/2 with Betfred for him to be the top Aussie bowler, that is the way to go, with the 11/4 available with the same firm for Anderson to be top English bowler another eye-catching bet.
So, while Australia are rightfully warm favourites for this contest, it's England that can bounce back from Brisbane, and emulate their win here two Ashes series ago, and send the teams to Perth locked at one apiece, in what is set to be a sensational series Down Under.
