Wide Open Outright Betting
As you would expect with any T20 Tournament, the outright market is wide open at this stage with any number of the franchises fancied to lift the trophy.
Few will be surprised to see the Perth Scorchers at the head of the market with the Western Australia franchise the most successful in the history of the tournament. The Scorchers, coached by Justin Langer, have won the tournament three times and have made the play-offs every single year.
The brilliant Michael Klinger remains their key man this season and is more than capable of picking up the top run-scorer title, whilst David Willey looks like a more than useful overseas option. The Englishman can perform with both bat and ball and as a result, Perth are the 4/1 favourites with Ladbrokes to lift the title once again.
The two Melbourne franchises, the Stars and Renegades, should also be in the mix this season. Kevin Pietersen is back for the Stars (5/1) and is always a threat despite his lack of cricket these days, and the Renegades (11/2) will be relying on Aaron Finch at the top of the order.
Jason Roy, another Englishman, will be hoping to lead the Sydney Sixers (6/1) to glory this season although they are without Doug Bollinger and Josh Hazlewood this term which is sure to weaken their bowling attack.
Brisbane Can Bring The Heat This Season
The Brisbane Heat were the champions back in Big Bash 2 and they look in good shape to have another strong campaign. They went all the way to the final last year before losing to the Scorchers, and with the explosive Chris Lynn at the top of the order, they are going to be tough to beat at 11/2 with William Hill.
