Roger Federer delivered a master class against Britain's Andy Murray to claim his fourth Australian title. Federer always looked the likely winner after the first four games of the first set. He settled far more quickly, served with far more authority and played some of the best tennis ever seen on any court in the world at anytime. In winning Federer further enhanced his reputaton as the greatest player to have ever played the game.

In the Ladies Singles, Justin Henin's fairytale comeback ended in defeat, losing in three sets to defending champion Serena Williams in the final.
Melbourne Park hosts the first tennis Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open. It takes place between 18-31 January 2010. The tournament staged its centenary year in 2005 and has a very impressive Roll of Honour for both the mens and Ladies singles. Reigning men’s champion is Spaniard, Rafael Nadal, while the Ladies Champion is world number one, Serena Williams. Both are amongst the favourites to win the titles again this year in the Australian Open Tennis Betting.
British number one and World number five Andy Murray has been seeded fifth for the 2010 Australian Open, handing him a tricky looking draw. The Scotsman could face Rafa Nadal in the quarter-finals if the seedings prove correct, plus he could meet dangerous floater Gael Monfils in the last sixteen. Murray has never made it past the fourth round of the first Major of the year but can take solace in the fact that this tournament has a history of throwing up surprises.
Number one seed Roger Federer should face few problems in the early rounds although there is a possibility he could face either Lleyton Hewitt or Marcus Baghdatis in the third round who will both have plenty of local support.
In the women's draw, 2009 winner Serena Williams is seeded one and favourite to win in Melbourne again in 2010. Belgian duo Justine Henin and US Open winner Kim Clijsters both represent a particular threat in the bottom half of the draw and look decent bets.
