The end of season WTA Sony Ericsson Championships are in full swing, with form player Kim Clijsters and world number one Caroline Wozniacki the ones to beat in Doha. In the betting Victor Chandler Bookmakers are offering odds of 6/4 for Clijsters to win the tournament, with Wozniacki at 15/8, after it was confirmed on Thursday that they would be joined by Vera Zvonareva and Samantha Stosur in the semi-finals.
The WTA Championship is the final tournament of the season for the top 8 players from the Women's Tennis Association tour, and after two days of group play the women to reach the final four have been confirmed. The 8 were originally divided into two groups of four, a white group and a maroon group, with the top two players from each group going through to the semi-finals. The semi-final draw will be decided by the final round of group matches on Friday, and the top player from the white group will play second in the maroon group and vice versa.

Kim Clijsters, the only player left in the tournament to have won a Grand Slam in her career, needs to beat Vera Zvonareva on Friday to top the white group. She will fancy her chances in this tournament having won it twice before, and especially as Serena and Venus Williams are both missing from the competition due to injury. She heads the betting with VCBet at 6/4 to be the overall winner of the tournament, and has won her first two games so far - comfortably beating Jelena Jankovic and labouring to a victory over Victoria Azarenka.
Vera Zvonareva won her first two matches without dropping a set and she is right up there in the betting at of 3/1 with Victor Chandler. But she has only ever beaten the experienced Clijsters twice in the past and Clijsters will fancy her chances of beating Zvonareva and progressing to a third Championship win.
In the maroon group, Caroline Wozniaki is 15/8 in the betting and has been confirmed as the year ending world number 1 after winning on Thursday. She should be on a high after the news and will be keen to end a great season with a Championship win. However her form has not been great during this tournament, losing to Samantha Stosur and dropping a set against Francesca Schiavone, and as she finished second in her group she will play the winner of the Clijsters-Zvonareva match in her semi-final.
Australian Stosur tops the maroon group and would have been feeling in top form after she beat world number 1 Wozniacki in her first match and defeated French Open champion Schiavone in her second. However she slipped to defeat against Dementieva in her third match. Victor Chandler have her as the outsider of the four semi-finalists in the betting at 11/2, but in a knockout competition such as this anything can happen and a £10 bet on the Australian to win the tournament would return £65.
