Andy Murray has reached the final of the Australian Open for the first time having beaten Croatian Marin Cilic in four sets on Thursday night in Melbourne. The Scot lost the first set to Cilic but turned the match around winning the next two sets before the Croatian visibly tired in the fourth. Cilic had already contested three, five set matches in this year's Australian Open whereas Murray had breezed through the earlier rounds relatively untroubled. In fact, the first set in this match was the first Murray had dropped in the whole of the tournament.
Murray is now an evens shot with bookmaker Paddy Power to win his first major, although Roger Federer is still favourite despite having a semi-final to play against Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Friday. Paddy Power go 19/20 about Federer whilst Tsonga is a 14/1 shot to win the title.

This will be Andy Murray's second grand slam final, having lost to Roger Federer in straight sets in the 2008 US Open final. Murray has grown in stature both physically and mentally since then, reaching world number four in the rankings for a spell in 2009.
Murray's previous best performance in Melbourne was a last sixteen appearance in 2009, where he lost to Fernando Verdasco in five sets. The Scot will now have two days to prepare for the final. His head to head record against Federer reads six wins against four losses, although Federer has won on the last two occassions. Murray's record against the Frenchman Tsonga reads won two, lost one, but that solitary loss did come in this tournament back in 2008.
The final will be played on Sunday morning at 8:30am GMT and all of the bookmakers listed on this site will be offering live betting in-running on the match.
