Andy Murray US Open Tennis Odds: Scot Being Backed Say Bookmakers

Bookmakers are reporting considerable betting support for Andy Murray to win the US Open tennis championship, following his outstanding victory in the Toronto Masters last weekend. Murray has been backed in to 7/2 from 9/2 with VC Bet to win the final Grand Slam of the season after first defeating world number one, Rafa Nadal in the Semi Final in Toronto which he followed up with a straight sets victory over 14 times Grand Slam winner, Roger Federer in the final.

The win over Nadal was particularly sweet for Murray after the Spaniard knocked him out of the Semi Final at Wimbledon, before going on to claim his second title. Nonetheless the Bookmakers still make Nadal co-favourite with Federer to win for the first time at Flushing Meadows with odds of 11/4.

Of course it is still not certain whether or not the defending champion, Juan Martin del Potro will be in New York, but even if he is he will surely be far too short of match form to defend his title successfully, which effectively leaves the tournament between the three favourites.
