Premier League Darts Week 8 Betting Preview: James Wade can beat Simon Whitlock in Cardiff

The Premier League of Darts moves into week eight of action at the CIA in Cardiff on Thursday night and Phil Taylor remains 1/2 favourite in the outright betting. Simon Whitlock, Raymond Van Barneveld and Gary Anderson are the best of the rest at 8/1 with William Hill, although Anderson will miss week eight as he is attending the funeral of his father, leaving Adrian Lewis to play two matches.

It is Lewis who is first in action in Cardiff and he starts as firm favourite to beat Andy Hamilton as the two-time world darts champion looks to build on his first win in the tournament last week. Lewis finally got off the mark with victory over Kevin Painter after opening the season with three successive draws and three successive defeats. He bounced back last week though, winning the final five legs in a row to secure an 8-3 win, and this week looks a prime opportunity for him to make some ground, with Hills going 9/2 for Lewis to win 8-5. Hamilton should be competitive again after drawing with Simon Whitlock in a high quality match last Thursday but Lewis will be flying after last week and should be too good.
