Bahrain F1 Grand Prix Odds: Vettel Back on Top for Red Bull

It would seem that normal service has resumed on the F1 circuit with Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel grabbing pole position for the Bahrain Grand Prix, a position he dominated of course throughout last year. His performance quickly had the bookmakers revising their odds for the race, which originally had Nico Rosberg of Mercedes as the odds on favourite to take pole and a short priced favourite to win the race. However, in the wake of his performance Vettel has been installed as the 13/8 favourite with Bet365 with Lewis Hamilton, who starts on the front row with Vettel second favourite with odds of 2/1 available from the same Bookmaker.

It was hard to explain the performances of the two Mercedes cars; last week Rosberg was a hugely dominant winner of the China Grand Prix and team mate Michael Schumacher, qualified in third place on the grid. They were expected to continue where they left off last week with many tipping Schumacher as a likely Bahrain winner but in the event he failed to qualify for Q2 and will start in 17th place on the grid. Rosberg meanwhile failed to find the one lap form which earned him ‘pole’ last week in China and he will start in a disappointing fifth place. The odds for both have been changed to reflect their performances, with Rosberg out to 12/1 to win the race and 5/2 to earn a podium finish. Schumacher is now 80/1 to win and 10/1 for a podium.
