Sagaro Stakes Odds: Red Cadeaux heads betting in Kempton Group 3

Just six runners have been declared for the Group 3 Sagaro Stakes at Kempton on Wednesday. Originally scheduled to be run at Ascot, the Berkshire track were forced to abandon the meeting due to waterlogging so the All-Weather at Kempton has come to the race's rescue. There may be only six runners on Wednesday, but the favourite Red Cadeaux is sure to attract plenty of attention following some eye-catching runs abroad in 2011. The Ed Dunlop trained six year old has been priced up as a 9/4 favourite for this two mile contest with bookmaker Paddy Power and he looks to have all the credentials to take top honours.

Ed Dunlop's six year old has done a bit of globetrotting of late, with his last four runs coming in Hong Kong, Australia, Ireland and France. He was without a win in those four starts but gained credible placed efforts in three of them. Last time out he was beaten one and a half lengths into third spot by Dunaden in the Group 1 Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin Racecourse. His race before that came in the Melbourne Cup where he finished second, beaten again by the French trained Dunaden but this time by just a nose. A third place finish in the Group 1 Irish St Leger completes his three latest runs and you'd expect him to be strongly fancied dropping down in class on Wednesday.
