Roy Hodgson long odds on to be named new England Manager

Roy Hodgson will interview with the FA on Monday for the vacant manager's job with the Engilsh national team. It was announced by the FA on Sunday night that the West Bromwich Albion boss had been approached for the England Manager's Job and that they would be speaking to him on Monday. Harry Redknapp had been the bookmakers' favourite to replace Fabio Capello in the long term ever since the Italian resigned back in February, ironically on the very afternoon that Redknapp himself was aqcuitted from tax evasion charges at Southwark Crown Court on February 8th. Redknapp was as short as 1/4 favourite before Sunday's news brokes but nowPaddy Powerhave pushed the Tottenham manager out to 4/1 for the job with Roy Hodgson available to back at odds of 1/7.

Roy Hodgson has enjoyed a good spell as West Brom manager, having held the position for over a year when taking over from Roberto Di Matteo in February 2011. At the time the Baggies were threatened with relegation from the Premier League but a run of five wins and five draws from the club's remaining twelve matches was enough for West Brom to finish last season in eleventh, their highest league finish for three decades.
