South African Open Odds: George Coetzee could provide another homegrown winner

The European Tour remains in South Africa this week as the South African Open gets underway at the Serengeti Golf Club on Thursday. Five-time champion Ernie Els is likely to go off favourite for the event, which is co-sanctioned by the South African Sunshine Tour, as Bet 365 price him 11/1 in the latest odds.

There has been a strong tradition of South Africa winners in this tournament in the past and the top four in the final leaderboard last year were all home-grown. Els is the defending champion after he won at the Durban Country Club for a fifth time but the players take on a new course this year.
