Will Tom Cruise Star In Mission Impossible IV ?: Bookmakers Paddy Power Still Have Him As Favourite

Paramount have long been in negotiations over the next Mission Impossible film and whilst it has been reported that JJ Abrams and Tom Cruise are both on board for the next bloockbuster, the rumour mongers are suggesting that with Cruise's waning draw at the box office that there may be room for him to be replaced by another actor. Apparently, movie moguls are monitoring the overseas success of his latest film 'Knight and Day' to see if he still has influence over foreign audiences before deciding if Tom Cruise will star in Mission Impossible IV. Bookmakers Paddy Power still have him as 2/5 favourite to play the role of Ethan Hunt.

Cruise stars in 'Knight And Day'' with Cameron Diaz, his first film since 'Valkryie' in 2008 and has met with approving reviews from his home audience for his multi layered performance. It is clear however, that his fan base has decreased since his marriage to Katie Holmes and more importantly his unabashed involvement with the Scientology movement. ' Knight And Day' does mix romance and comedy with elements of the thriller genre so is has been well chosen to echo his glory days of 'Top Gun' and remind his fans of his strenghts, Cruise is dependant on foreign audiences showing their appreciation.
