The first big handicap chase of Cheltenham Festival sees 19 runners go to post for the Stewart Family Spinal Research Handicap Chase at 2.40pm on Tuesday. King has gone top heavy with several of his star performers in action on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival and will be well aware that eight of the last eleven winners of this handicap chase have started at single figure odds. The 2011 renewal represents a second crack at the race for Bensalem after he fell when well placed two from home last year, and he goes off at the same 11st 2lb handicap this year. The 8-year-old was fifth in the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham in January and followed that up with a runners up place in the Rendlesham Hurdle at Kempton in February, although it remains a concern that he has not been seen over fences since his fall at the Festival last year.
