England World Cup Group C Odds

The England World Cup odds were cut immediately after the 2010 World Cup draw was made in Cape Town. Drawn in Group C, alongside USA, Algeria and Slovenia, England will open their campaign against the USA in Rustenburg at altitude on June 12th, the second day of the tournament.

To help England even further they will play their opening game near to their headquarters and can expect a huge amount of support. Their odds to win the World Cup are now 11/2 from 13/2 with Boylesports and they have been made 1/3 odds on favourites to win Group C, also with Boylesports

Two of the teams, Algeria and Slovenia only made it to the finals via the play-offs and the USA, although doing well in the 2009 Confederation Cup should offer no real threat to an England side who could not have had it any better.

England in fact played and defeated Slovenia last March and should be confident of a at least a repeat of that in South Africa and Algeria are thought to be the weakest of the home continent teams.

On the downside and assuming they qualify from their Group, England could well find themselves drawn against Germany in the Round of 16. The Germans were drawn in a very difficult looking Group D alongside, Australia, Serbia and Ghana.

The winners of Group C will play the runners up in Group D, with the winners of Group D playing the runners up of Group C. Germany were pushed out in fact to 14/1 to win the World Cup outright with VC Bet following the draw.
