Solwhit Champion Hurdle Odds Cut

Solwhit Champion Hurdle odds were cut in half following his brilliant win in the Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown on 15th November, however some confidence in his ability waned after he could only take a third place behind Go Native and Sublimity in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle a couple of weeks later.

However, the Charlie Byrnes trained five year old bounced back with great vigour taking the December Hurdle at Leopardstown at the end of December, reversing the form with Sublimity and looking every bit a prime Champion Hurdle prospect. He is now disputing second favouritism with Go Native for the Champion Hurdle in March with odds of 6/1 with Ladbrokes

This latest win has given him four wins in his last five starts with four at Grade One level. In those wins he has had the better of horses such as Hurricane Run, and 2008 Champion Hurdler, Punjabi plus he looks to have the upper hand now on Sublimity.

The 2010 Champion Hurdle looks increasingly likely to be one of the best races of the Cheltenham Festival with any number, including Solwhit, in with chances. Favourite for the race is Zaynar with a best price of 5/1 with Paddy Power, while Go Native is just about next best at 11/2 with VC Bet
