Harry Tricker Greatwood Hurdle Odds Shorten To 9/2

Harry Tricker Greatwood Hurdle odds for this weekend's Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham were shortened considerably, from 10s to 9/2 following a huge midweek gamble. An easy winner last weekend of a good quality Handicap Hurdle over two miles at Sandown, the Gary Moore trained five year old has been supported all week and is now favourite to win the Grade Three at Cheltenham on Sunday. Bet365 have him at 9/2 but punters can still back him at 5/1 with several Bookmakers including Paddy Power and Ladbrokes.

Racing fans will remember that Numide won this race last season for the Moore stable and now it is fully expected that Harry Tricker will follow up.

Next in the betting is the Nick Williams trained James De Vassy who looked very smart last time when beating a good quality field in a Limited Handicap at Chepstow on October 10th. That field included the very useful Paul Nicholls trained, Classic Swain, who only managed to finish second, four lengths adrift. James De Vassy is currently a best price of 10/1 with Totesport.

Before the big surge on Harry Tricker, it was the Alan King trained Medermit who held favouritism, but the 2009 Supreme Novices runner up, is not thought to be up to the task for this race, despite being the proven class horse in the race. The Greatwood Hurdle has thrown up some very useful winners over the last few years, Rooster Booster won in 2002, Detroit City in 2006 and none other than Sizing Europe won it in 2007.
