The European Open Golf odds for this week's European Open Championship has last years winner, Ross Fisher as favourite. Fisher warmed up in perfect style for the event with a magnificent second place behind new world number three, Paul Casey at the PGA at Wentworth last weekend and looks well priced at 12/1 with Stan James to retain his title.
Second in the betting is Spain's Sergio Garcia who has had a good start to 2009 and will look to go one better than last year when he finished second in this event to Fisher. Garcia will also be well motivated as he has now lost his number three world ranking to Casey and will be eager to regain it. Garcia can be backed at 15/1 with Boylesports
As usual the European Open has attracted a high quality field, which includes Players Champion, Henrik Stenson, the high fyling Ulsterman, Rory McIlroy, Ryder Cup star, Robert Karlsson, US Masters Champion, Angel Cabrera, as wwll as England's Lee Westwood, who won this twice in succession in 2000 and 2001.

The tournament is also an important event for the Race To Dubai a series currently being led by Casey who will not be at the London Club this weekend. McIlroy lies 3rd in this race, while Fisher is 4th, Cabrera 5th and Garcia 7th. We think the winner will come from this group and would advise an each way punt on Cabrera at 28/1 with Paddy Power
12.1 Fisher, 15/1 Garcia, 16/1 Stenson, McIlroy, 22/1 Karlsson, Kaymer, 25/1 Goosen, 28/1 Cabrera, Westwood, 35/1 McDowell, 40/1 Bar
