The Rabobank Champion Hurdle odds for the feature race on Day Four of the Punchestown Festival has Punjabi as 2/1 favourite. Punjabi surprised many by winning the Champion Hurdle at last month's Cheltenham Festival, but he won in great style and seems to be at his best this time of the year; after all he won this race last year in fine style too.

It is likely that he will be taken on by Quevega, herself an impressive Cheltenham winner after she romped home in the David Nicholson's Mares Hurdle, winning by 14 lengths from United. She comes into the betting picture as second favourite at 10-3 with Boylesports and looks like a tasty option.

The race has attracted a top class field and sees the return of the once highly rated, Sizing Europe, plus three other former Champion Hurdlers in Sublimity, Hardy Eustace and Brave Inca (should he not run in the Stayers Hurdle)

We quite like the look of the Noel Meade trained, Muirhead who is one of three entered in this race by Noel Meade, the others being Jered and that old war horse, Harchibald. Muirhead ran well behind Punjabi at Cheltenham, but he has pleased connections, who have had this race in mind as his main target all season. He can be backed at 7/1 with Boylesports

Solwhit is another top class contender, trained by Charlie Byrnes, he has won four of his last five starts, including the John Smiths Aintree Hurdle four weeks ago.
