The Cheltenham Gold Cup odds have swung even further in favour of Kauto Star, while Denman is becoming the easiest horse in the race to back. Kauto Star is now best priced with Stan James at 15-8, while Denman has slipped out from 6-1 to 7-1 with both Bet365 and Ladbrokes.
The two most recent winners of this most prestigious of all races, Kauto Star (2007) and Denman (2008), have been centre stage for this race all season, but with Denman failing to impress on his return to the race track in the Aon Chase, following heart surgery, it is Kauto Star that has once again become all the rage with punters.
In fact Denman has been overtaken in the antepost market by Neptune Collonges who has come in for increasing support following his impressive Irish Gold Cup win last month; he is now best priced at 6-1 with Ladbrokes to win.
All three of course are trained by champion trainer, Paul Nicholls, they occupied the top three places in the 2008 race and now they occupy the top three in the betting this year but it is clear this time around that it will be more than just a three horse race.

Others who are clearly in with a chance are Denman's conqueror in the Aon Chase, Madison de Berlais. Trained by David Pipe, he looked in great nick when defeating Denman by 18 lengths in that race and according to Pipe he is in similar form for this.
Jonjo O'Neill has been making noises all season that Exotic Dancer has never been better and although Kauto Star has generally had his measure, the ten year old is in great shape and he must be the each way bet of the race.
