Next England Cricket Captain Odds
The next England cricket captain odds has opening batsman, Andrew Strauss has 1-2 odds on favourite to take over the reins from the outgoing Kevin Pietersen. His resignation has put the England cricket team in complete disarray and many believe that the whole structure of the ECB has become a laughing stock ahead of the tour to West indies and more importantly the Ashes series later this year.
Pietersen who has resigned due to his differences with coach, Peter Moores, requested that the ECB sort the problem out before the team to fly out to the West Indies, suggesting that he was threatening to resign then if they refused his request. Its possible that the ECB did not like a gun being held to their heads and therefore made it clear to Pietersen that Moores was likely to stay. Pietersens response was to resign and in so doing has turned the English cricketing world on its head, and provided the media with its biggest story so far in 2009

Whether Pietersen remains as a player is unknown at this stage, but he will be disappointed to hear that many of the players were believe to be supportive of Moores rather than Pietersen and if that is true then Pietersen may give up playing for England for good.

Possibly the only other contender to captain the side is Andrew Flintoff, who has attracted odds of around 2/1 to regain the skippers arm band.
