King George Chase Betting

The King George Chase betting market has retained two time winner Kauto Star as favourite at around the 6/4 mark with most leading bookmakers. This is in spite of his last fence fall in the Betfair Chase last month. His chief rival in the betting is the Alan King trained, Voy Por Ustedes, who has been slowly shortened into 7/2.

The King stable report that their horse is in tip-top condition ahead of the big Boxing Day race and should have no difficulty in stepping up to 3 miles for the first time. There is no doubting the credentials of Voy Por Ustedes, winner of the Queen Mother Champion Chase in 2007 and runner up in that same race to Master Minded in 2008, a defeat he avenged just three weeks later at Aintree. He is a horse of sheer class and if he is in top form he will undoubtedly be a serious challenger to Kauto Star. Alan King has said that he could not be more delighted with him.

The race should be a real humdinger, with some of the best chasers in the country meeting for the huge prize money on offer by sponsors Stan James. Sir Robert Ogden who owns Voy Por Ustedes, also has Exotic dancer in the race, despite him holding an entry for the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown on Sunday. Exotic Dancer on form is well held by Kauto Star, but did finish in third place in the Betfair Chase, due to Kauto's fall at the last. Another who could surprise is the peter Bowen trained Snoopy Loopy, who won the Betfair Chase and followed that up with a third place in the Hennessey Gold Cup. He has odds of 20/1 with Stan James which are certainly worth taking if backing Snoopy Loopy each way.
