The Long Walk Hurdle odds for this important Long Walk Hurdle betting race has the Nicky Henderson trained Duc De Regniere as a narrow 7/2 favourite ahead of Blazing Bailey, who is at 4/1. Duc de Regniere was the impressive winner of last months Toteswinger Long Distance Hurdle where he got the better of Blazing Bailey, in the race where Inglis Drever sustained a career threatening injury and was pulled up.

The Long Walk is one of three major hurdle races this weekend which will influence the betting in both the Champion Hurdle and World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. .

Henderson also has Punchestown in the race and he believes there is little to choose between them his two horses; Punchestown is also a 4/1 shot. All three favourites are all high in the betting for the World Hurdle at Cheltenham and there are a number of other Cheltenham bound runners in the field, which should make it the highlight race of the weekend.

Blazing Bailey a proven top class stayer made too many jumping mistakes when defeated by Duc De Regniere in the Long Distance Hurdle, but was still staying on at the end and trainer Alan King is likely to put him back in blinkers for this race. The King stable has at last started to peak as it so often does this time of year and we expect Blazing Bailey to come storming back to his best. He should be snapped up at a price of around 4/1.
