The next Blackburn Rovers manager odds have been drawn up in the wake of the speculation surrounding current boss, Paul Ince. The beleaguered Ince faces a difficult week as he tries to focus his mind on football matters while speculation about his future gathers momentum.
A sixth successive Barclays Premier League defeat, 3-0 at Wigan, at the weekend, did not help his cause and extended their win-less run to 11 matches and a consolidated position in the relegation zone, five points adrift of the safety zone. With the transfer window imminent it is difficult to see the Blackburn board giving himthe funds to try and buy his way out of trouble and this has only increased the pressure on Ince.
His position at Ewood Park is bound to be under discussion this week, particular after, Chairman, John Williams expressed his disappointment after watching Blackburn lose tamely to Wigan. The Chairman pointed out to the press that the Premier League is beginning to become stretched meaning that Blackburn now need two wins, rather than one to get themselves out of trouble.
The latest news is that Ince is history and Paddy Power are making Graeme Souness is the 2/1 favourite to be the next manager of Blackburn Rovers following Paul Ince's departure today. Bookie Paddy Power has installed the out of work Souness top of the early betting for a return to the club he previously managed and won the Carling Cup with six years ago.
Souness is followed in the betting by experience Premier League managers Sam Allardyce at 6/1 and Alan Curbishley at 7/1 whilst former Rovers legend Alan Shearer is 10/1. Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: “Blackburn gambled on Ince's inexperience and the betting suggests they'll almost certainly go for a Premier League old hand to steady the ship this time round before it hits the relegation rocks.“
