Troytown Chase Odds
The Troytown Chase odds for the big Grand National trial race at Navan this weekend has the Paul Nicholls trained, Officier De Reserve as favourite and based on Nicholls previous recent raids on Irish soil, he probably deserves to be. An Injury to his stable jockey Ruby Walsh has not prevented Nicholls in his assault on valuable Irish pots as he bids to continue his challenge for the top Irish Trainers' title.
Nicholls has already been successful over the last few months with Oslot, Dear Villez and, of course, a couple of weeks ago with Kauto Star and Noland. The shrewd trainer has had Walsh replaced in the saddle by top Irish jockey, Davy Russell much to the chagrin of other trainers whjo were slow off the mark to book the sought after pilot. Nichols was quick to book Russell after he realsied there was no Gigginstown stud horse entered.

Nicholls has revealed that the plan for Officier De Reserve was to go to Navan for the Trotown as it offers exactly what Officier De Reserve needs, three miles and soft ground, with extremely good prize money. Of the 21 entries, Russell could have elected to ride the Tom Mullins trained Chelsea Harbour but he opted in favour of teaming up with Nicholls, realising probably that he is on to a good thing.
