Ascot Hurdle Odds
The Ascot Hurdle odds has the Emma Lavelle trained Crack Away Jack as favourite to win what will be an excellent form guide for some of the Champion Hurdle contenders. Crack Away Jack was an impressive winner of the Realtime Radio @williamhill.co.uk Hurdle at Chepstow last month and earned quotes of around the 8/1 mark for the feature hurdle race at Cheltenham in March.
At present it looks like he will be taking on former back to back Champion Hurdle winner, Hardy Eustace, who is entered despite only winning the Morgiana Hurdle last Sunday at Punchestown. Hardy Eustace had Sizing Europe and Jered behind him last week and he looked to be back to somewhere close to his brilliant best, despite being nearly 12 years old. He is quoted around the 5/1 mark for this and they would have to be great odds if indeed he takes up his option.

The Alan King stable, who won the Champion Hurdle in 2008 with Katchit, have declared one of their other promising hurdlers in Franchoek, who was runner up in the Triumph Hurdle last March at the Festival and has since gone on to win his last two. Also in the field will be Chomba Womba, winner of the Elite Hurdle ahead of Katchit and the Mersey Novice Hurdle winner, Elusive Dream.
Lavelle is quite bullish about her chap's chances, she is quick to point out that Crack Away Jack had another of Kings horse's behind him at Chepstow in the form of Squadron and he has gone onto frank the form, finishing a solid fourth in the Greatwood Hurdle last weekend.
