Cesarewitch Tips
Our Cesarewitch tips this week for the Cesarewitch betting race at Newmarket is the Jim Best trained five year old Gee Dee Nen. Best has been quoted that the horse has a really good chance and many have already taken the gamble on him. Best, who got the horse from fellow trainer, Mark Tomkins, less than two months ago, is running him for the first time, but was impressed when he won his last race for Tomkins at Ascot. It is known that he has been working exceptionally well at home.

The draw is often the biggest factor in this race, high draws are usually where to find the winner. Best has booked Frankie Dettori for the ride which is significant; he is the ideal man to get this horse home. Ironically whatever the outcome of the race, Best admitted that he bought the horse to go hurdling and he will be kept busy throughout the winter, a win in the Cesarewitch in essence will be a big bonus. He is viewed as a potential Cheltenham horse one day.
The race has along history and was first run in 1839, it usually attracts horses from the stables of both flat and National Hunt trainers. It was won last year by the Irish trained Leg Spinner ridden by Johnny Murtagh, who team up again for another tilt
