Epsom Derby Betting
In the Epsom Derby betting there has been a tipping line inspired gamble on the John Oxx trained juvenile Sea The Stars who has been backed from 20/1 into 10/1 for the 2009 Derby following sustained support. The half-length winner of the Gp2 Beresford Stakes last time is a half-brother to previous Derby winner Galileo and the son of Cape Cross is unlikely to be seen out again this season. It is arguable whether what he has achieved so far this season justifies going into winter quarters as Derby favourite, but he is trained by a master and is obviously held in some regard by connections and, it would appear, punters alike.

Sea The Stars who won the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at the Curragh and is following the path taken by Alamshar in 2002 and Azamour the following year. With this in mind one can see why there has been money for the horse with the winter ahead of us. His victory in the Beresford did not look anything magical, but Oxx is not in the habitof rushing his horses, and there is good reason to believe that the son of Cape Cross will mature into a very smart middle-distance performer.
