Ladbrokes.com Stakes Odds
The Ladbrokes.com Stakes odds has the George Margarson trained, Young Mick at the top of the betting at 5/1. Margarson is hoping that his star handicapper will get a well deserved change of fortune and record his fifth win at the course on Saturday. The six-year-old has not managed to get his nose in front since registering his incredible tenth victory of 2006 in the Group Three Cumberland Lodge Stakes.
He has however run with great gusto on several occasions and was just beaten by Night Crescendo over his favourite mile and a half at the Ascot track two weeks ago. Margarson has hinted that Young Mick is still fresh and has been performing well at home since that race and that he was well overdue for a change of fortune. Young Mick will be carrying 3lbs extra due to that performance and if anything will beat him it will be the weight.
The good news is that he has been drawn well at seven and from there he should be able to stay handy throughout but will have to be wary of his previous conqueror, Night Crescendo who will be looking to confirm the form.
