Marchand Dor Primed for Big Run in Prix de lAbbaye
The Prix de l'Abbaye is the Group One Sprint that often gets overlooked on the under card of Longchamp's Arc De Triomphe meeting. However, it is an excellent race as both a it brings together the fastest horses in Europe to do battle over €250,000 of prize money. It is also a facinating and competitive betting heat with, Marchand D'or this year's favourite heading that betting at 5/1.
Latest Arc De Triomphe OddsThis race has been domianted by British trainers in recent years with all of the past six winners having come from across the this side of the English Channel. The British contingent looks strong again this year with Fleeting Spirit, Borderlescott and Equiano spearheading the Anglo-assualt on the Longchamp sprint course. However, the French horse, Marchand D'or, looks primed for this race and we fully expect the Freddie Head tained Gelding to put an end to the British domination in this event. Marchand D'or has already won two Group one races this year, including the Newmarket July Cup and his form when beating African Rose last out was franked when she landed the Ladbrokes sprint recently.
The only doubt surrounding the chances of Marchand D'or is the minimum 5 furlong trip, however, he has won over this distance already this season and this would be even less of a problem if the ground was to come up soft.
