Duke of Marmalade Arc de Triomphe Odds
The Duke of Marmalade Arc de Triomphe odds have been cut dramatically today in anticipation that his trainer, Aiden O'Brien will announce that his brilliant four year will go to Longchamps for the Arc. Several bookmakers have cut his ante-post odds from 6/1 to 5/1 although at least two of them have him as short as 3/1 for Europe's premier Group One. Pre-race favourite Zarkava has had her odds lengthened by one point, she is now 2/1 and is likely to go longer before race time next Sunday.
O'Brien's other main contender, Soldier of Fortune has also gone out in the market, he is now 11/2 and looks likely to be the stables second string. .

It was good and bad news for the Ballydoyle team at the pacemaker hearing the other day. Jockey's Johnny Murtagh and Steve O'Donahue were both banned for seven days and trainer, O'Brien was fined £5,000 for breaching the rules. The good news however is that Murtagh will be free to ride Duke of Marmalade in the arc and that is significant, as Murtagh has described Duke of Marmalade as the best horse he has ever ridden.
The Duke of Marmalade is also the top rated horse in the world right now after his five Group One success's this year and he is sure to go off as favourite next week. There has also been some support for the each way chances of Sir Michael Stoute's, Papal Bull, who ran the Duke of Marmalade so close in the King George earlier in the season. At 25/1 with most bookmakers, an each way punt on Papal Bull looks a good bet.
