In the Prix de l'arc de Triomphe betting Stan James cut the brilliant unbeaten French filly Zarkava from 6/4 to 5/4 for next month's Arc following the news that the Derby winner New Approach would bypass the race in favour of a tilt at the Champion Stakes at Newmarket. Head of PR Charlie McCann: "With doubts about who will represent Ballydoyle in Paris we have decided to cut the Aga Khan's filly to 5/4 as we felt that New Approach would improve for the return to 12f and we are slightly surprised with the decision to keep the Derby winner to 10f following what was at best a workmanlike sucess in a non-vintage Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown last time.
