Doncaster St Leger Odds

The Doncaster St Leger odds still has the Aiden O'Brien trained, Frozen Fire top of the market, but it is interesting to note that his odds has eased somewhat from 15/8 to 9/4. Frozen Fire was the surprise winner of the Irish Derby back in June and the stable always had the St Leger in mind for his track return. His odds have been eased due to a comment made by O'Brien that he was not altogether too sure whether his colt would get the extra two furlongs. There are no such fears however for Ralph Becketts, Epsom Oaks heroine, Look Here, the filly comes to the race in tip top shape and has worked really well at home. Her odds have been trimmed from 9/2 to 4/1. Stand in jockey, Eddie Aherne, who is replacing the injured, Seb Sanders on the filly, was very pleased with his trial run on her and the scene is set for her to once again get the better of the Ballydoyle horses.

Another horse to look out for in this race is the Sir Michael Stoute trained, Dr Fremantle. The colt was tipped for the St Leger much earlier on in the season and Sir Michael has been slowly but surely grooming him for this race. His stablemate, Tartan Bearer, got the better of Frozen Fire in the Dante Stakes at York but fell victim of to the Ballydoyle tactics to repeat his success in the Irish Derby, where he eventually finished third. Stoute must believe that he knows what it takes to beat Frozen Fire and has put his faith in Dr Fremantle to do just that.
