The Amir Khan v Breidis Prescott boxing odds has the British fighter as clear favourite for the fight that is to be screened on Sky Box Office on Saturday night. The fight, which will be a stepping stone for either fighter to bid for a shot at the world lightweight title, possibly as early as next year. Khan comes into the fight unbeaten in 18 fights, he has won 14 of them inside the distance and for the most part has looked mightily impressive in the process. He has got himself into prime condition for the battle, which if he wins, could put him on the path to a fortune. It seems he is already being groomed to assume the role of Ricky Hatton, as Britains most popular fighter. In fact their has been talk of the two meeting before Hatton's inevitable retirement.

Before all that however he must defeat the Colombian, Prentiss, who himself, comes into the fight with a record, that on paper, is even more impressive than Khan's. Nineteen fights, nineteen wins with seventeen of them by knock out. He has also fought at light welterweight and will likely be stronger than Khan on the night. He is also taller by a couple of inches. There are many boxing fans that believe that Khan has a weak jaw, he has been on the floor a couple of times now and has looked very shaky. He does though possess that rare quality of being able to get back up again and come back emphatically.
Despite the unknown quantity of Prentiss and his record, it seems highly unlikely that he will win here, particularly as it appears that there are organisations who have entered into a lucrative arrangement with him. It simply would not do if he lost.

His odds are 1/16 to win, but if you like to bet on a boxing outsider, Prentiss can be backed at 33/1. It might be better to look at which round it will end. Khan for instance can be backed at 8/1 to win in the first round.
