Champions League betting is set to be big business for bookmakers over the coming weeks as the Champions League draw for the group stages of this season's competition was made on Thursday afternoon. Thirty two teams will begin the journey to Rome on September 16th, but only one will be triumphant in the Italian capital come next May. This year's competition looks as tough as ever, with many of Europe's heavweights once again contesting the most coveted prize in domestic football.

Last season's finalists, Man Utd and Chelsea head the bookmakers odds at this stage as 11/2 co-favourites. The Spanish duo of Barcelona and Real Madrid are both 7/1 and 9/1 respectively with Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan side also a very appealing 7/1 chance. The two remaining English sides, Liverpool and Arsenal both drifted to 14/1 after being drawn in tough groups. The rest of the field available at odds of 16/1 or bigger.
