- Sunderland v Middlesboro – Draw. Sunderland who managed a creditable draw last week against Wigan seem to have most of their new signings bedded in and this match could signal that they could be a tough proposition for anyone. However, Middlesboro have made an encouraging start to the season, despite their defeat away at Portsmouth last weekend, they have secured 6 points and in striker, Mido, they may have a match winner.
- Blackburn v Fulham – Away Win. Fulham have already earned the reputation of being the surprise team of the year so far, securing 6 points from just 3 Premier League games played. They come to the match in confident mood after beating Bolton last weekend. Blackburn meanwhile, have had an inconsistent start to the year and will still be having nightmares about the 4-0 drubbing they received at home against Arsenal last week. It will be a big test of Paul Ince's management skills to see if he can lift his side for this important match.
- Liverpool v Stoke – Home Win. We take Liverpool to continue their good league form and take adavantage of a Stoke team, who are probably out of their depth in a match such as this. Liverpool earned a great win in the Champions League in midweek, where Steven Gerrard scored what might be the goal of the season. They looked sharp and hungry throughout the match and will have far too much firepower for a modest Stoke City side.
- West Ham v Newcastle – Home Win. We take West Ham to pile on the misery for the managerless, Magpies. We predicted last week that Hull City would beat them at St James Park and that defeat will have a serious impact on a Newcastle side, who are desperate for some direction. West Ham will hope to have overcome their own management difficulties and now that Zola has taken over at the helm, the Hammers could well return to winning ways.
- Bolton v Arsenal – Away Win. Arsenal will surely have too much in the tank for a Bolton side who are coming off a defeat against Fulham, that defeat has ruined an otherwise good start to their season. Arsenal who won 4-0 last week at Blackburn look like a team full of goals and it would be no surprise if they were to put four past Bolton this week too.
