US Open Tennis Odds
The US Open Tennis odds for the tournament that starts on Monday unsurprisingly has, in the mens tournament, new world one, Rafael Nadal as favourite to win his first US Open. If he does so then it will be his third Grand Slam title in a row, plus it will add to his Olympic title that he won in Beijing last week. Nadal has never acquitted himself too well at Flushing Meadows, his best performance to date was his quarter final appearance in 2006, but so hot is his form this year that he is difficult to oppose.

Roger Federer, who has won at the US Open for the past four years, is second in the betting, but there the lack of confidence in him by sports backers seems equal to the lack of confidence he has in himself. He has had a seriously difficult time of it lately, he has lost both his Australian and Wimbledon crowns this year and the US Open title is all he has left. Last year's runner up is third seed, Novak Djokovic and he too, despite winning the Australian Open at the beginning of the year will come to the tournament having lost three times to Nadal in recent times and then he had two high profile defeats at the hands of sixth seed, Andy Murray in the Masters series last month.

In the women's singles, Ana Ivanovic was named as number one seed, but it is Serena Williams who is the bookies favourite to win her third title. Without reigning Champion, Justine Henin and the injured, Maria Sharapova, the tournament has a wide open look about it and therefore Serena would be the obvious favourite, especially as she is on home soil. Her big sister, Venus Williams, is also in with a great chance and her odds of around 5/1 should not be ignored.
Mens leading odds:7/4 Nadal, 11/4 Federer, 13/4 Djokovic, 12/1 Murray, 50/1 Del Potro. Womens odds: 100/30 Serena Williams, 9/2 Ivanovic, 5/1 Venus Williams, 6/1 Safina, 11/1 Jankovic.
