English League Odds

The English League odds for this coming season in the Premier League has Manchester Unites as favourites but the gap in the Premier League odds between them and Chelsea is very narrow with many plaudits believing that Chelsea can reverse the placings with their great rivals this season. We all remember how Man United managed to keep the ‘blues' at bay last season, but with all their ups and downs off the field during the pre-season, the vibes suggest that Chelsea are ready to overhaul them

Chelsea have had a smooth but very progressive pre-season period. Felipe Scolari, the new manager, seems to have smoothed over the crack's and has bought in two or three top class players who can do nothing other than improve their chances.

The odds currently are 7/4 United and 15/8 Chelsea. The other two in the so called big four, Liverpool and Arsenal are given only a slim chance of winning the league, Arsenal are 6/1 and Liverpool, despite the purchase of Robbie Keane, are 15/2. There has been much activity in the Premier League transfer market in this pre-season, particularly so at Spurs and Aston Villa. This however has not impressed the bookies as Spurs are quoted at 66/1 to win the league while Aston Villa are 200/1. If the bookies are right, and they usually are when it comes to soccer, then it is ‘as you were' in the Premier league this year and the only real competition is between the top two.

The English odds in the Coca Cola championship make much more interesting reading, with Birmingham, after their 1-0 win over Sheffield United last weekend consolidating their favouritism at 6/1. They are followed by QPR and Reading at 15/2, with Wolves, Crystal Palace and Sheff Utd all around the 12/1 mark.
