The Open Golf Betting has really heated up this week ahead of the Championship that starts this Thursday at Royal Birkdale. Defending Champion, Padraig Harrington, who returned to winning ways last weekend at the Irish PGA is also backable at 16/1, while Scottish Open winner and European Open 3rd, Graeme McDowell can be backed at a ridiculously generous 60/1. Robert Karlsson too has been in a rich vein of form nearly all season and no-one would begrudge him of lifting the Claret Jug for the first ever Swedish win. It would be marvellous if there could be a European winner in Ryder Cup year, the odds for that are 6/5 while the odds for an American winner are 11/4. England are 4/1 against producing a home winner.
