Irish Oaks Tip
The Irish Oaks tip for the Irsih Oaks betting race at the Curragh is an Aiden O'Brien horse. Well apologies for that statement, but it seems that O'Brien is going into the race with five runners as he did in the Irish derby and his tactics might be very similar too. O'Brien is often accused these days for going into races mob-handed and for some followers of the sport it is tending to spoil the fun. The stable, quite rightly are after winning the big races and their voracious appetite for Group One success is becoming almost addictive. Monstone is seemingly their number one contender and is also favourite for the race at 2/1. His others Adored is 20/1, Gentle on my Mind is 33/1 and Ice Queen can be backed at 40/1. Punters should remember that Alessandro Volta was the stable's number one in the Irish Derby and yet the not so fancied Frozen Fire came up with the goods, after plenty of shenanigens in the closing stages.

From the rest of the field is their one that can take the favourite on? We have had a close look and the only one we like is the John Oxx trained Katiyra. She was third in the Epsom Oaks but Oxx was adamant that it was the course she disliked and she had run an exceptional race to finish third. The Curragh is much more to her liking and the stable confidently expect that she can reverse the form with Moonstone, who of course was second at Epsom. Katiyra is 3/1. We also looked at the Andre Farbe trained Gagnoa, but we only looked because it is not often that Fabre sends horses to the Curragh. She has shown good form in France and was second in their Oaks equivalent behind Zarkava. She might be worth a place bet on that form.
