The Bunbury Cup July Meeting odds for this weeks big betting event at the July meeting at Newmarket, has Musaalem as favourite in a race that is, to say the least, wide open. Traditionally this exciting cavalry charge is the biggest betting race of the meeting. Money will come and go and odds can be expected to change right up to race time on Friday. The race has already seen big money for Mastership, who has been backed in from 14/1 to as short as 8/1. This has probably something to do with the 6lb he is receiving from Musaalem after finishing 2 lengths behind him at Doncaster recently. One sad aspect about the race is the retirement of three time winner Mine. James Bethell who will be trying for a 4th success with him will be sorry to see the giant horse retired to stud but all good things come to an end. He should not be entirely ruled out in this race; he is in there with as good a chance of any and is priced at around 16/1. Possibly an each way punt may be the best option with him this week.
