Scottish Open Odds
The Scottish Open odds for the big golf tournament before the British Open this week has American, Phil Mickelson as favourite. The tournament will be played at Loch Lomond this week. The tournament has been held there since 1996 and has grown enormously in both prestige and popularity. It is now one of the highlights of the European golf tour and as usual has attracted an excellent field. The tournament is an ideal competition for golfers to warm up before the British Open, which starts next week at Royal Birkdale.

Like last year, heading the field this week will be world number 2, Phil Mickelson. He had this tournament won last year but poor finishing allowed Frenchman, Gregory Havret to catch him on the line. The Frenchman won the resulting play off. Nonetheless it was an excellent performance by Mickelson, who clearly loves the course and the atmospherics of the tournament. If he plays similarly this week he will have a great chance of winning. He is currently the 9/1 favourite. Close up in the betting is twice winner and world number 6 Ernie Els. The ‘big easy' is around the 12/1 mark and will be looking for a big performance after several disappointing efforts. England's, former winner, Lee Westwood is third in the betting, Lee who played so well in coming third behind Tiger Woods at the US Open last month, will be looking for his first tournament win of the season. He is currently 14/1.

Other notable odds for the Tournament are Colin Montgomerie's 35/1. Colin has been hinting recently of a return to form and his home Open might be a good place to start winning ways again. Last year's winner, Gregory Havret, is listed at 70/1, Ross Fisher, so impressive when winning the European, just last week is also a 35/1 shot. World Number three, Adam Scott will also be playing this week and we like the look of his 12/1 odds.
