Dermot Weld is optimistic about his entry, Casual Conquest, who was third at Epsom after having won the Derrinstown Derby Trial in great style; it was a win that earned him favouritism for Epsom at the time. Weld has said that his colt is still very immature, but has come out of Epsom in great shape and he expects him to run a big race, whether it is big enough to turn tables on both New Approach and Tartan Bearer is doubtful.
