Ascot Kings Stand Stakes Tip
The Ascot Kings Stand Stakes tip is Fleeting Spirit. This newly upgraded Group One race is not only one of the top sprint races in Europe it now also carries the tag of being the first UK leg of the global sprint challenge, which will see the best sprinters in the world compete against each other. This race over 5 furlongs is always a battle royal but has not been a good race for favourite backers. Although last year the favourite, Miss Andretti trained in Australia, did get home at 3/1. She was the first favourite winner since 1994. We just hope that our tip can follow suit. All the talk this year however is about Fleeting Spirit, she seems to have really caught the imagination. The Jeremy Noseda trained 3 year old looked every inch a sprint champion when breaking all records to win the Temple Stakes at Haydock last month. She has a breathtaking turn of foot and it will have to be a mighty quick horse that gets the better of her here.

It is usual for the older horses to get the better of the 3 year olds, especially if they have plenty of race experience, but Fleeting Spirit is so quick that she is expected to knock that trend for six. The only thing that will disadvantage her is plenty of rain as she prefers good or good to firm ground. She is currently best priced at 5/2 and although we do not usually tip favourites we do believe that there is still value for money in backing what could be an exceptional racehorse. Odds are 5/2 Fleeting Spirit, 9/2 Takeover Target, 8/1, Kingsgate Native, 8/1 Magnus, 8/1 Benbaum, 12/1 Dandy man.
